Campus Events Planning & Disability Information
Administrative offices, student groups, and academic departments planning public events on campus should take steps to make sure that their programs and activities are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
- For presentations to an audience that will include people with visual, learning and cognitive disabilities, campus offices can utilize A Guide to Planning Accessible Meetings, by June Kailes and Darryl Jones, by contacting the university's accessibility coordinator at (607) 255-5150.

The university's ADA Center in ILR has a publication, Accessible Temporary Events: A Planning Guide, that was developed by the Center for Universal Design at North Carolina State University. The guide is an ideal tool for anyone involved in the planning or coordinating of activities such as street festivals, craft fairs, music events, state and county fairs, regattas, air shows, animal shows, home shows or parades and political rallies or similar types of activities. To obtain a copy of this document, call the DBTAC-Northeast at 1-800-949-4232 or send us an e-mail at northeastada@cornell.edu.
- If you need to arrange for an interpreter for your event or activity, contact: Sign Language Solutions. You will need to provide information on the date and time the interpreter is needed, the location, and the type of interpreter needed (American Sign Language, Signing Exact English, oral interpreter, or other assistance).
