Myra Maloney Hart
MYRA MALONEY HART (AB '62 Cornell; MBA '81, DBA '95 Harvard) is a professor of entrepreneurial management at Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. Before obtaining her doctorate in 1995, she was group vice president of growth and development at Staples Inc. She previously served as director of marketing at Star Market, a division of the Jewel Companies. She is a director of the Center for Women's Business Research, a member of the Committee of 200, and a director of several public and private companies.
Elected to the Cornell Board of Trustees initially in July 1, 1999, Dr. Hart serves on the Alumni Affairs and Development Committee, the Academic Affairs Committee, the Development Steering Committee, and the board of directors of eCornell. In 2005, she will begin serving as chairman of the Subcommittee on Faculty Development. Dr. Hart previously served on the board's Subcommittee on Research, Subcommittee on Tenure and Named Chairs, and Buildings and Properties Committee (2003-04), and was a member of the Cornell Presidential Search Committee for the University that concluded in December 2002.
Dr. Hart served two terms on the Cornell University Council, including service on the council's Administrative Board and on its Membership and Career Advising and Placement Committees. A member of the President's Council of Cornell Women since 1992, she is a past co-chair of its Alumnae Leadership Committee and served as vice chair of membership. Dr. Hart also serves as vice president of the Class of 1962, was a member of the class's 30th Reunion Tower Club Committee, and is on the major gifts committee for the 40th Reunion. Dr. Hart established four scholarships in April 1998 in support of the Scholarship Challenge Campaign.
