Douglas C. Mitarotonda
DOUGLAS C. MITAROTONDA (BA '02, MEng '03) was elected by the student body to serve a two-year term on the Board of Trustees, beginning July 1, 2005. He is the first graduate or professional student to be elected to the board in more than ten years. Mr. Mitarotonda will serve as a member of the board's Academic Affairs, Alumni Affairs and Development, Trustee-Community Communications Committees, and Alumni Affairs Steering Committee.
Mr. Mitarotonda is seeking his PhD degree in economics at Cornell. He currently serves as the graduate chair of the University Assembly and is an opinion columnist for the Cornell Daily Sun. In addition, Mr. Mitarotonda has been involved in many campus organizations during his tenure at Cornell. In particular, he is a founding member of the Cornell University Solar Decathlon, Renewable Energy Society, and Engineers for a Sustainable World.
