Edwin H. Morgens

EDWIN H. MORGENS (AB '63 Cornell; MBA '67 Harvard) is chairman of Morgens, Waterfall, Vintiadis & Company, Inc., a financial services firm that he founded in 1967. He is also a director of TransMontaigne Inc. of Denver, Spectragraphics Corporation of San Diego, and Programmer's Paradise, Inc., of Shrewsbury, New Jersey. He is a vice chair and trustee of the American Museum of Natural History and the Wildwood Foundation.

Mr. Morgens has been an at-large trustee since 1991. He currently chairs the Board of Trustees Executive Committee (2002- ), having served as vice chairman of the board from 1997 to 2002. Mr. Morgens also serves on the Board Membership, Alumni Affairs and Development, Development Steering, Executive, Finance, Governmental Relations, and Investment Committees and on the Investment Committee's Hedge Fund Advisory Subcommittee. He is a member of the Board of Directors for eCornell and became an overseer for the Weill Cornell Medical College in 1994. Mr. Morgens chaired the Presidential Search Committee for Cornell's 11th president.

Mr. Morgens has been chairman of the Administrative Board of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology since 1989, the first chair who is not a university administrator. Under his leadership, the lab has had significant programmatic growth. The Edwin H. Morgens Professorship of Ornithology was authorized by the Board of Trustees in January 1992. Mr. Morgens is also a member of the Major Gifts Committee and a member of the major gifts committee for the Class of 1963.
