About Ronald Seeber

Vice Provost for Land Grant Affairs

Ronald Seeber reports to the Provost and serves as the Vice Provost for Land Grant Affairs. In that role, he serves as the coordinator of the four New York State Contract Colleges at Cornell, and represents the University in its dealing with the State University of New York and the state government. In addition, his office supports the broader land grant mission of the University in all of the colleges.

Seeber received his Ph.D. in Labor and Industrial Relations in 1981 from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He also earned an A.M. at the University of Illinois in 1977, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Iowa State University in 1975. He has been on the faculty at the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell since 1980. In 1987, he was appointed Associate Dean of the ILR School and Director of Extension, positions in which he served until 2000. He also has served as one of the founding directors of the Scheinmann Institute on Conflict Resolution. Seeber was appointed Cornell University's Vice Provost for Land Grant Affairs on August 1, 2005.

Seeber is a scholar of labor-management relations and dispute resolution. He has authored or edited eight books in those fields as well as numerous articles and monographs.
