March 2007 Appoint Vice President Mary Opperman and Vice Provost John Siliciano to co-chair NCAA Certification Steering Committee.
July, August 2007 Review and appoint steering committee and subcommittee members.
Ongoing Communicate with the NCAA/Liaison Shana Levine.
August 10, 2007 Meet with Carolyn Campbell-McGovern to determine the Ivy Office involvement in the recertification.

Prepare a tentative written plan for completing the self-study.
September 14, 2007 Videoconference orientation by NCAA staff.
September 2007 Committees on governance and commitment to rules compliance, academic integrity, and commitment to equity meet to review the recertification process.
Ongoing Regular meetings of steering committee (monthly) and subcommittees (as needed).
October 2007 Appoint Kristin Walker as chief report writer and institutional liaison.
October 18, 2007 Announce self-study to the Cornell Board of Trustees Committee on Student Life.
November 2007 Announce self-study on the official university web site, www.cornell.edu.

Conduct an introductory open meeting on campus.
November 2007 - February 2008 Subcommittees collect and organize data.
February 2008 First draft of subcommittee reports submitted to the steering committee; steering committee provides feedback.

Write the final draft of the self-study report.
March 2008 Release the final draft of the self-study report to campus.

Provide opportunities for campus feedback on the draft report, primarily through meetings and use of the university website.
April 2008 Finalize self-study report.
May 1, 2008 Submit the final self-study to the NCAA.
