Cornell President David Skorton issued the following message of condolence today:

It is with deep sadness that I share with you the news of the death on Tuesday, Feb. 21, of one of our graduate students, Dong Quan Hao, 27, of White Haven, Pa., who was working in the fields of materials science and engineering, and electrical and computing engineering. During his Cornell career, Dong served as president of the Engineering Graduate Student Association, in 2009–2010, and as a FlexEBio IGERT Fellow. I offer my personal condolences as well as those of the entire Cornell community to Dong's family and his many friends. Please join me in taking a moment to acknowledge the tragic loss of a cherished member of our community.

Plans to commemorate Dong's life will be made in consultation with his family and friends.
