Cornell offers nearly three-dozen varsity sports, including polo, gymnastics, basketball, baseball and softball, and football, plus one of the largest intramural programs in the country.

An extensive roster boasting 120 courses allows students a range of choices about how to complete their two-credit graduation physical education requirement while learning such activities as ballroom dancing, skeet shooting, fly fishing, and yoga.

And then there are the facilities -- the Barton Hall track, the rock-climbing wall and soccer fields in Bartels Hall, pools in Teagle and Helen Newman halls, four fitness centers, and the new Friedman Wrestling Center.

For those who prefer their exercise without a roof over their heads, Cornell Outdoor Education offers classes and equipment for cross-country skiers and backpackers, and even sponsors wilderness rescue training.

"Nothing brings out school spirit like Cornell athletics. You havenít witnessed it all until youíve watched a live hockey game."
