Cornell's arts scene rivals that of many large cities, with students from every state in the United States and more than 100 countries joining in the action. A weekend's offerings might include an intimate vocal concert in Barnes Hall, the opening of a new exhibit at the Johnson Museum, a celebration of Hindu culture, and a step-dance performance on the Statler Hall stage.
In October, students put on the Rocky Horror Picture Show in the Risley Hall auditorium, and each spring, dance majors perform in a concert at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts.
Cornell Cinema screens more than 500 films annually, from film noir to foreign, as well as recent releases and classics. Meanwhile, the Concert Commission regularly brings such performers as Ani DiFranco, Nas, Ben Folds, and Wynton Marsalis to campus.
