In early spring, the Mary Rockwell Azalea Garden on Tower Road blossoms into a riot of colors, from white to cherry red. Even after the flowers have faded, lush foliage and the garden's winding path lead pedestrians from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Uris Hall up a hillside to the A. D. White Garden and Mallott Hall.

The garden is one of six stops on the Liberty Hyde Bailey Loop, a walking tour through campus. The loop honors the first American professor of horticulture and a one-time dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Bailey authored 68 books, including an encyclopedia of American Horticulture and a collection of poetry.
