Despite heavy bus traffic on nearby Tower Road, a thick hedge blocks street noise from reaching the ears of visitors to Professor Minns's garden.

The northwestern corner of the plot offers a shaded oasis of foliage. The statue Feeding the Birds and a small bench add to the contemplative mood.

Now located in front of the Plant Sciences Building, the garden was originally sited three blocks west, where Mallott Hall now stands. The smaller, modern-day version boasts wide variety and bright colors from early spring through late autumn and a mix of annuals and perennials.
