Disability Accommodation?

Aly Nadworny, a rising graduate student, was faced with a difficult choice. Should she move to New York City to be with her husband or remain in Ithaca to finish her Ph.D.? Rather than lose a top student, Nadworny's Cornell advisors stepped in and found a way for her to continue her Ph.D. program in New York City, allowing the young couple to be together.

Nadworny participates in the Linkage Program, which is designed to increase scientific collaboration between Cornell's campuses in Ithaca and New York City. She is a student in the Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca and in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City.

In the city's cosmopolitan laboratory, our students work, play, research, study, and participate in community service. Meanwhile, our faculty members and alumni stand among the city's top thinkers and leaders. Together, they are involved in research, scholarship, business, and public service programs that are changing New York City, and the world, in ways large and small.
