The Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration and the Vice Provost for Land Grant Affairs engaged in a discussion with the community regarding Cornell's economic impact on the Central New York region and the entirety of New York State. While its economic impact is only one lens through which to view Cornell University, our Economic impact study describes Cornell's diverse contributions to the State of New York and provides an opportunity to assess how effectively Cornell is using the resources provided to carry out its tripartite mission of teaching, research and service.
The E.I.S. enables us to convey the complexity of Cornell's role in the state economy and, more generally, in the lives of its citizens. It also provides us with new informational resources to share with policy makers planning for the future of Tompkins County, Central New York and the State.
