The Fine Art and Horticulture room gives you just a taste of the many ways in which fine art and horticulture intersect. Here you'll see varied illustrations from rare books located in the Mann Library that have been carefully rendered by techniques such as woodblock printing, copperplate engraving, and lithography.
At the Johnson Museum, you'll see that fine art and horticulture is not limited to botanical illustration, and will observe many different interpretations of plants and gardens in art. The images you will see span diverse media, four centuries, different cultures, and places.
Joining Marcia Eames-Sheavly are Linda Stewart, Special Collections Librarian at Mann Library, and Cathy Rosa Klimaszewski, an Associate Director and Ames Curator of Education at the Johnson Museum.
This video is part 5 of 9 in the Fine Art and Horticulture series.
