Terrance Hayes, professor of creative writing at Carnegie Mellon University, is the author of three books of poetry:Muscular Music,Hip Logic, andWind in A Box. He has received a Whiting Award, the Kate Tufts Discovery Award, a National Poetry Series Award, a Pushcart Prize, and an NEA Fellowship; he has also been selected for the Best American Poetry anthology.

Hayes read from his work on Oct. 30, 2008, in Cornell's Goldwin Smith Hall. The event is part of the Creative Writing Program's fall 2008 Reading Series, which features established and emerging artists.
