While melting polar regions, crop failures, and storm disasters dominate the public discourse on global warming, human health risks from climate change are of high concern in the public health field.

Jonathan Patz, professor of Environmental Studies & Population Health Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, discusses discusses risks, impact and new analyses.

Patz spoke on March 30, 2009 as part of the Climate Change Forum, an initiative of Cornell faculty in the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, and humanities for deeply interdisciplinary mutual learning in pursuit of an effective and just response to the challenge of global warming. It is sponsored by the Cornell Center for a Sustainable Future, with support from the Colleges of Engineering and Agriculture & Life Sciences, and the Institute for Computational Sustainability.
