MARK NELSON: I'd like to invite a few of our recent scholarship recipients to talk about what that support has meant to them.
STEPHANIE JORDAN: My name's Stephanie Jordan, class of 2020, and I'm an investment director and private investment specialist at Cambridge Associates in Boston. My Johnson experience, enabled by the Forte Fellowship, provided an irreplaceable foundation for professional success and growth in the finance industry. I was encouraged and empowered financially and by the Johnson community to take full advantage of academic and professional experiences. These included serving as co-president of the Old Ezra Finance Club, honing my investment acumen through the Investment Management Immersion, managing the Cornell Endowment through the Cayuga Fund, giving back as a Fried Fellow, and serving as a Johnson Leadership Fellow and admissions interviewer.
Johnson empowered me to do all of this and more because it was possible for me to attend due to my generous Forte Fellowship. The Forte Fellows represent an investment to advance women in business. And Johnson saw potential in me that, at the time, I didn't even see in myself. That vote of confidence, and the financial support to leave paid work for the privilege of focusing on myself, my skills, and my education for two years enabled me to reach new heights in leadership, in my career, and in my personal relationships.
Johnson is an institution that prides itself on giving students every opportunity and raising people up to the best of their abilities. It's a community that puts its values into action. I was able to become someone I always dreamed about. And I hope that we continue to pay it forward in order to allow future members of the Johnson community to realize their full potential. That's the power of Johnson. Thank you so much for all of your continued support.
MARK NELSON: Thank you, Stephanie. Thank you so much.
