More than 300 Glee Club members and alumni, returning to the Cornell campus for Reunion 2019, sang the iconic “Ave Maria,” by Franz Biebl on June 7 at Bailey Hall. The Glee Club is celebrating 150 years as the oldest club on campus. Its members and the alumni paid tribute to the late Professor Thomas Sokol, who conducted choral groups at Cornell spanning four decades, and who brought Biebl's sheet music back from West Germany in 1970. This special rendition was conducted by Michael Slon ’92, who is now a music professor at the University of Virginia.
