Thomas Seeley, the Horace White Professor in Biology at Cornell University, describes the benefits of Darwinian beekeeping, an approach where "the beekeeper works with the bees to allow the bees to be bees."

Seeley's new book, “The Lives of Bees: The Untold Story of the Honey Bee in the Wild” (Princeton University Press, 2019), describes the biology and behaviors of wild honeybees and takes lessons from nature to inform small-scale beekeepers on how to manage their hives to better face modern challenges.
